Catering to the SMB Market, SIP Print Yields Strong 2009 ResultsSIP-based VoIP call recording provider, SIP Print, caters to many businesses, but mainly the small to medium business, or “SMB,” market. And, it’s no surprise what the current economic recession has done to the SMB market.
“The recession is not good for any business, especially the SMB market,” SIP Print’s (News - Alert) CEO and President Don Palmer told me in a recent TMCnet interview. “The SMB market survives daily and decisions are made within minutes not weeks or months or even years.” But, SIP Print was able to capitalize on the current economic situation by catering to these companies with its upgrade products and advanced business relationships. And, simultaneously, SIP Print’s business grew. Why? “SIP Print IS small business; we recognize and relate to the needs of small business,” Palmer said. “SIP Print can help a small company protect their business from a financial disaster while at the same time provide exceptional customer service which all lead to more profits, better margins and customer referrals for more business.” Our full exchange is below. TMCnet: How did your company perform this year? How close did you come to meeting your guidelines as you entered 2009? Don Palmer (News - Alert): Well as you may expect 2009 was a very difficult year for most companies with the recession and down turned economy. That being said SIP Print made huge advances within our product as well as within the way we do business. SIP Print opened several new Distribution Channels that were actually above and beyond what we had projected for 2009. Our European Market is now underway with a huge success. All in all 2009 was very successful for SIP Print and has paved the way for a very, very successful 2010. TMCnet: What major product, services and partnership announcements did your company report? DP: SIP Print had many announcements in 2009 in both product development as well as partnerships. Our partnerships with Adtran, Interlink (News - Alert), Vidicode, Siracom, Zultys, Nortel and Avaya Dev Connect were a sign of how SIP Print is being accepted around the globe as the call recording platform to utilize and deploy for the SMB market. SIP Print also announced the release of our “Express” unit for small businesses from 10-20 users at an affordable price as well our small medium enterprise, or “SME,” unit equipped with “redundant” components as well as “hot swappable” fans, drives etc. for the Law Enforcement, Health care and entities that require redundant protection from 50-200 users. I also believe that our presence within the TMC global community has allowed SIP Print to be recognized on an ongoing daily basis which allows SIP Print to be available to all SMB around the globe and that is quite a service that the SMB has never had before in call recording. TMCnet: At the start of 2009, the economy slowed to a deep recession. How did that affect your company’s performance? More specifically, what affect did it have on demand for your goods and services, if any? DP: The recession is not good for any business, especially the SMB market. The SMB market survives daily and decisions are made within minutes not weeks or months or even years. The impact on small business to provide the ultimate in customer service and at the same time protect their business which is their life line is essential to say the least. So, the truth is that SIP Print demand has been growing and growing. Why? SIP Print IS small business; we recognize and relate to the needs of small business. SIP Print can help a small company protect their business from a financial disaster while at the same time provide exceptional customer service which all lead to more profits, better margins and customer referrals for more business. SIP Print understands the recession and we did not run away from it, we embraced it and embraced the small business market place. SMBs have been neglected by higher end technology development that only offered solutions for those who could pay the big dollars. SIP Print has given the SMB market the chance to have affordable technology to improve and protect their business. TMCnet: Talk to us about the major news item – whether it was a new product, an acquisition or something else – in your market segment this year? DP: I would have to say that the Nortel situation was a major news item that took a little bit to swallow down. SIP Print focuses on SIP and VoIP technology and with Nortel we had certified the SIP Foundry segment with them. Avaya (News - Alert) has set its sights on that segment as well so we were in the right place at the right time and are prepared to move forward with them. TMCnet: With signs that the economy is pulling out of the recession, what are you expecting in 2010? DP: I suppose that like most companies we expect sales to improve, more systems to be shipped worldwide and profits to be higher. I think anything above and beyond that is a blessing. Any business that has survived these past couple years deserves some good improvement in the economy. I would expect that SIP Print will grow rapidly in 2010 with new partnerships that have not been announced yet. As well we will be there for the SMB market as things improve SIP Print will be a technology product that the SMB will embrace.
